ARTIST STATEMENT

Jessica Lopez (Lady Fishbone) makes fishbone art: jewelry, on canvas and sculpture. She collects the bones from the local market and leaves them in the pond at the back of their house, where the fish will clean them. After a week, she collects the bones and cleans them and sterilizes them herself. She then create art out of it. She's been creating fishbone art since 2014.

To understand the phrase "One man's trash is another man's treasure" is one thing. To actually live it is another. Jessica Lopez embodies creative innovation using sustainability and resourcefulness, as her inspiration to produce beautiful and striking work of art.
